RACHEL KNOWLES

Rachel is a printmaker based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

Her work begins with observation: seed heads in winter, the first snowdrops pushing through cold soil, flowers moving gently in the breeze.Rachel is drawn to the calm order of plants and the reassurance they bring, even in the depths of winter.

Using traditional lino cutting and hand printing, She works in small editions, allowing the natural texture and slight variations of the process to remain visible. These marks are important, they echo the imperfections and rhythms found in nature itself.

Rachel wants her prints to be lived with rather than simply looked at: pieces that bring a sense of stillness and familiarity into everyday spaces, offering a quiet moment of pause in busy lives.
